I was waiting at Vandalur for my friend to pick me up, and then I noticed a man making his meal under street light. I wanted to capture the scene. I asked him if i can take a picture of him, he had no objections. I tried to take some picture (well i did not capture what i intended, that's a different story). After the session was over I pulled out a ten rupee note. And the man refused to take it, I insisted but he did not accept my offer. Then he said something that struck me like a thunderbolt. This man was talking about black money and how it affected the country.
| The man's house. (that is how he explained it to me) |
| Rajinikanth in the movie "Sivaji". |
Suddenly he asked me if I have seen Sivaji (movie). And he was talking to me how Rajinikanth fights against black money. He quickly took me to his abode, took out a photo of Rajinikanth. He told me that he would never accept money like this and he always made his own food and never depend on others. (I thought it was irrelevant ). However the man even asked me to have some food, but I refused. The point here is there are so many people who criticize Rajinikanth and his movies (me being included) but the power of his persona and movies are unequivocal.
